JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Trustees of Missouri Farm Bureau’s FARM-PAC endorsed Democrat Terry Swinger of Caruthersville for the 25th Senatorial District during an endorsement session September 20th. Swinger’s opponent is Doug Libla of Poplar Bluff.

The endorsement came after trustees reviewed both candidates’ responses to a FARM-PAC questionnaire, reviewed voting records and heard remarks from each.

Swinger is currently Minority Caucus Chair in the Missouri House where he was first elected in 2003. He serves on several House committees, including the Agriculture Policy and Rural Community committees. An optometrist, Swinger has offices in Caruthersville, Kennett and Portageville.

Missouri Farm Bureau’s regional FARM-PACs are political action committees of farmers and ranchers who are selected as trustees by their county Farm Bureau organizations. The trustees interview the candidates running in the general election, review their voting records, and seek their positions on issues. For any endorsement to stand, two-thirds of the vote tallied must favor a candidate.
