Scholarships for Agriculture & Vocational Agriculture Students


Farm Bureau provides a number of scholarship opportunities for students pursuing careers within the scope of agriculture.

C. R. Johnston Scholarship


WHAT: The C. R. Johnston Farm Bureau Scholarship in Animal Sciences, established in 1989 recognizes his contribution to Missouri Farm Bureau Federation and Missouri agriculture. Over $10,000 is awarded annually.
WHO: Recipients must be majoring in animal sciences and their parents must be members of Missouri Farm Bureau. In addition, recipients must have demonstrated academic achievement and have a record of leadership in agriculture.
WHERE: University of Missouri-Columbia
HOW: Students wishing to apply should complete the University of Missouri Scholarship application form.

Missouri Farm Bureau Scholarship

WHAT: The Missouri Farm Bureau scholarship provides financial assistance to students from Farm Bureau families pursuing degrees at UMC. One $1,000 award will be made in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources and one in Human Environmental Sciences.
WHO: Awards will be made to a qualifying sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a bachelor of science degree in agriculture (except animal science) and human environmental sciences. Families of recipients must be members of the Missouri Farm Bureau Federation.

MFB Foundation for Agriculture Scholarship

WHAT: The Missouri Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture is providing $6,000 in scholarships to outstate institutions with active agricultural programs and Collegiate Farm Bureau Chapters.
WHO: Recipients must be pursuing a degree in agriculture and their parents must be members of Farm Bureau.

HOW: Application may be made by contacting the Department of Agriculture at each school.
 

Dodge Scholarship Program

WHAT
: The Dodge Division and its dealers are offering a minimum of fifteen scholarships of $1,000 each. Completing this application will allow eligibility for other scholarships through the National FFA Foundation. All applications and instructions are available at
www.ffa.org.
WHO: Qualifying applicants must be active in FFA and from a Farm Bureau membership family. Applicants must have documented a strong Supervised Agricultural Experience Program (SAE).
WHERE: Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a two-or-four year college, university or vocational/technical school.

MFB Ambassador Scholarship

WHAT: The Missouri Farm Bureau Ambassador program provides an opportunity for young leaders to represent agriculture and Farm Bureau for one year. One male and one female applicant will be selected each year at the Annual Meeting of the Missouri Farm Bureau Federation. A $1,250 scholarship will be awarded to the two ambassadors.
WHO: Applicants must be selected by their county Farm Bureau to participate in the state wide competition. They must be 17-22 years of age and their family must be a Farm Bureau member one year prior to the September 30 deadline.
WHERE: Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a two-or-four year college, university or vocational/ technical school.
HOW: Students wishing to apply should contact their
county Farm Bureau for additional information.

county Farm Bureau in your area for more information.


Vocational Scholarship Program


WHAT
: Missouri Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture awards four $500 scholarships annually to students pursuing a degree or appropriate certification in fields related to and supportive of agriculture. This includes, but is not limited to: 1) Heavy Equipment Operations; 2) Electronics; 3) Welding; and, 4) Diesel and Farm Machinery Repair.
WHO: All applicants or their parents or guardians must hold an active Farm Bureau member, must be enrolled as a full time student, must be enrolled for the fall semester of the year in which the scholarship is awarded and must be pursuing an associate of applied science degree or certification in a trade related to agriculture as listed above.
