Introduction
Students are encouraged to learn about their region of the country by exploring the similarities and differences of the region, noting natural and agricultural resources. They will use the map and decide which state/states to visit. Students explain why these states are worthy of the family trip. Students create a tri-fold brochure with their best arguments.
Evaluation
Students will be evaluated on the project in four areas. This includes the state fair guide sheet, the brochure information, the pictures or drawings, and the oral presentation. Of course, You can change the value or content of the brochure to fit your needs

Hints for Student or Teacher Use: While I use this to help my students learn more about our neighbors, it could be used to see regions across the United States.
Economic concepts such as opportunity cost. For example, if you go to the concert, will you be able to see the cattle show?
