District 7 Board Member
Education: BS in Industrial Technology, 1978 Missouri State University
Years with Missouri Farm Bureau: 15
Hobbies/interests: I'm afraid I suffer from a rather common malady among farmers in that I really have no hobbies. I take pleasure in well maintained equipment, healthy livestock, and beautiful crops. When I was still able, I did fly a plane.
I'm a fourth-generation farmer in Greene County. My wife is the sixth. We live on land that has been in her family for 160 years. We retired from dairy farming in 2007 after 25 years. We currently own 80 acres and rent an additional 150. We custom harvest about 1,250 acres per year. We do a limited amount of mechanic work for hire.
I believe Farm Bureau is important. Farming is important. Farming has been a blessing to me and my family and being on the Board allows me to be in a position to "make a difference" if and when the opportunity arises.
The first thing that comes to mind when I think "Farm Bureau" is the friendship and fellowship of like-minded people. I have gained a circle of friends that mean the world to me and many of our paths would never have crossed if not for Farm Bureau.
