Carl Bastin Re-elected to Missouri Farm Bureau Board

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Carl Bastin, a Jasper, Mo., farmer, was re-elected to a two-year term on the Missouri Farm Bureau board of directors during the organization's 95th annual meeting December 8 at Osage Beach. Bastin represents District 7 in southwest Missouri. He was first elected to the position in 2003.

Bastin farms 1,000 acres of row crops in Jasper County and maintains a 100-head cow/calf herd. He also grows hay on 300 acres, operating a custom hay baling and combining business, and finds time to sell seed as a DeKalb seed dealer.

A Farm Bureau member for 46 years, Bastin has served as president of the Jasper County Farm Bureau and secretary of the 7th District FARM-PAC. He is a recipient of the FFA American Farmer Degree and the Outstanding Leader Award from Missouri State University. He has also been involved on the Jasper County planning and zoning committee.

Bastin and his wife, Beth, have two grown children, Robyn McDowell of Jasper, and Robert Bastin of Golden City.
